Budget Shifts Reserve Posts as District Faces Revenue Loss
The district announces principal shifts at Paull Knox Middle and Gloverville and retirements of Dwight Smith and Gene Robbins. Purvis moves to Pinecrest Center coordinator with Area 1 duties, Thompson becomes J D Lever Elementary assistant principal, Whitson coordinates Special Education, and Culberson and Childs take school based roles. The House approves a draft budget causing a $12 million revenue drop per pupil, prompting staff cuts and concern over losing master teachers while distance education programs face reduced advancement. Eldridge notes lean administration and shifts in grant duties amid debate on protecting classrooms.
