Fire Destroys Woodworking Shop at Clearwater Finishing Plant Site
A woodwork shop on the former Clearwater Finishing Plant grounds burned Sunday after firefighters battled the blaze for hours. Fire Chief Mickey Williamson suspects arson and an investigation will follow. The shop held lumber and empty barrels behind the plant, which closed five years ago and was later taken by the county in a tax case. A security guard alerted the department before daybreak as multiple agencies assisted.
