Copper wire thefts along rail line in South Bexar County
Deputies report thieves are scaling utility poles along Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks in South Bexar County and stealing thousands of feet of copper wire. Over 13 000 feet vanished in two days this month from inactive circuits. Similar thefts noted in Atascosa County. In junkyards the wire could fetch about 50 cents a pound.

Auburn students plan blood drive to defend world record
Auburn University spokesmen say students will line up next month to defend what they claim is a world's card for blood donations. The drive is set for April 6 to 8, sponsored by the student government association, continuing an annual project begun in 1952. In 1967 Auburn collected 4 812 pints of plasma in two days.

Israeli Air Attacks Hit Suez Gulf Targets
Israeli warplanes pounded Egyptian military sites along the southern Suez Canal and Gulf of Suez in a two hour mission. A spokesman said all planes returned safely.
