The state budget cuts of 4.04 percent in September and 5 percent in December 2009 trimmed nearly six million dollars from the school operations budget. More reductions are expected before the 2009-2010 year ends. Federal Stabilization and Stimulus funds saved 140 teaching positions in Aiken County and supported IDEA and Title projects creating or retaining 44 instructional roles.
