Aiken County approves tethering ordinance and elevator repair
Aiken County Council advanced a no tethering ordinance for dogs and approved a sole source contract with Carolina Elevator Cooperative Inc to repair the Aiken Public Library elevator on Chesterfield Street. The elevator has been out of service since last October after a prior vendor performed poorly and was canceled.

World War II veteran returns home for last wish in Edgefield
James Fann an 89 year old World War II veteran with terminal cancer was granted his final wish. He spent a perfect day at his Edgefield County home riding his Kawasaki Mule and eating barbecue with friends and family before passing time at PruittHealth Hospice in North Augusta. Nurses and volunteers from PruittHealth facilitated the day as part of their Committed to Caring program.
