ARTS highway plan outlines 14.3 miles of loop projects
The ARTS program proposes 14.3 miles of loop highway additions plus three five lane widenings with a forecasted current-dollar cost near 20 million and nearly 40 million more in North Augusta projects. Inflation could raise costs, and Whiskey Road may need widening or an alternate route despite historic concerns. A finalized ARTS list is due by June from regional officials including Aiken leaders.
