States weighing refugee registries in South Carolina and New York

Slain Greenville officer’s patrol car becomes shrine
Greenville residents turned the patrol car of fallen officer Allen Jacobs into a shrine with prayers and flowers at police headquarters. Jacobs, 28, an Iraq war veteran married with two children and a third on the way, was shot Friday while questioning a 17-year-old gang member who then killed himself. A vigil was set for Saturday at Christ Fellowship in Travelers Rest and an online fundraiser neared its $50,000 goal.
