Townsend case ends after mistrial and pressure allegations
Jurors heard prosecutors threatened to indict coroner Townsend over alleged misuse of a computer and a taped call to force a plea. Mrs Townsend denied accessing NCIC files and said she never attempted it. Magistrate Edmonds rejected double jeopardy and misconduct claims as improper conduct. The defense hailed the jury system as the case concludes.
