Langley Pond set for regatta gains national notice
Aiken County Parks Recreation and Tourism Department and the Augusta Junior Rowing Club hosted a regional event. Sanders noted volunteers registered participants and arranged judges, while Langley Pond was prepared to welcome racers and spectators ensuring a clean venue. The success prompted the Atlanta Junior Rowing Association to relocate its regatta from Lake Lanier to Langley Pond. Langley Pond is now listed by US Rowing as a top ten venue with hopes to move into the top three within five years.
