After a ten day illness James S Keel longtime Montmorenci postmaster and church worker died. He is survived by one son Hiram four daughters and many relatives including siblings in Augusta Allendale Anderson Pelzer and Shaw s Fork. Funeral services were held at Montmorenci Baptist Church led by Rev B M Foreman with interment in the church yard.

He left a wife and four children including Mrs Abner Yaun of San Antonio and Mrs Lola Williamson of White Plains plus Mrs Ollie Rearden of Charlotte. Funeral services were held at Warrenville Methodist church with Rev A B Ferguson Jr and Rev Thomas Walker officiating and burial at Bethany Cemetery in Aiken.
