The annual meeting of the Friends of Hopelands and Rye Patch, Inc. will be Thursday at 5 15 p.m. at Rye Patch. The organization meeting of the trustees will be held promptly thereafter. Annual contributions may be made at the meeting.
Continuing Education to Teach Internet offers a 7:30 p.m. class in USC Aiken Science Building Room 100 taught by John Rigdon of Georgia Net. The $10 course covers basics and registration is via Jean Haynes at 641 3288.
Shepeard Community Blood Center lists a series of blood drives in March at USC Aiken Student Activities Center Edgefield Hospital Aurora Pavilion University Hospital Aiken Community Blood Center South Aiken Presbyterian Church and Kroger University Phwy. Times vary from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on different days.
Area artists were honored for works shown at the Aiken Center for the Arts. Joan Suits won Best of Show Lil lian Whelpley took the Colgate Award for Best Aiken Scene Jill Staf ford earned the Lehman Tree Award. Blue ribbons went to Thad Suits Mary Alice Lockhart Mary Ann Hogue Phil Permar Nancy Church and Mary Ann Mell aggs. Red ribbons were awarded to Diane Derico Mary Ann Hogue Mary Alice Lockhart Carol Ryder.
