Man Faces Charges After Firing On Deputies In Aiken County
Aiken County sheriff's deputies were fired upon while aiding private security guard Bruce Fillinger of Falcon Security. Marvin Wesley Cadden, 55, of 1024 Wildwood Drive, was arrested on two counts of assault and battery on a police officer with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, resisting arrest, and pointing a firearm. Deputies J W Bledsoe and Leon Scott were not injured. The arrest occurred on Huntsman Drive at about 2 30 a m Wednesday.

Robert Shivers, 24, of 619 Ravenel St in Aiken is in stable condition at Aiken Community Hospital after being shot in the upper left back while in his kitchen about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The attack, from outside his window, is under investigation by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department.

Bath resident dies from gunshot near Storm Branch Road
Arthur L. Mason, 52, of Pine View Drive, was found dead Wednesday evening in a vehicle parked in a field off Storm Branch Road near the railroad tracks. Aiken County Coroner Sue Townsend says the death was caused by a gunshot wound and foul play is not suspected.
