Aiken County held Democratic caucuses with Carter winning about 90 percent of delegates, Kennedy 8 percent and Brown none. 268 Carter delegates and 26 Kennedy delegates were reported from about 55 of 59 precincts with 2 percent uncommitted. Turnout was a record 70,000 to 80,000 statewide.
