A Texas lawyer Jake Jacobsen 54 of Austin pleaded innocent to lying to a Watergate grand jury He was indicted February 24 on the charge that he claimed he left $10 000 from a dairy industry group in a bank safe deposit box for 2 years without touching it.
Police sought the abductors of 6 year old Robbie Richard after he freed himself from captivity about 12 hours later. The boy was kidnapped Thursday morning as he walked to school in Piedmont and held in a car trunk with mouth eyes taped and hands feet shackled. The kidnappers initially demanded 100000 dollars but indicated willingness to accept less. no ransom was paid.
President Nixon's Chicago trip is front page news as he is met by Mayor Richard J. Daley at O'Hare and escorted to a Loop hotel for a question and answer session with the Executives Club. Daley insists Watergate is not a real issue in the 1974 elections.
Four year old Heidi Peterson has been missing since February 21. Police say she was abducted. Thousands of volunteers, including housewives, students, scouts, and merchants, have posted fliers and searched the city as the family and community await news. Her parents Roy and wife appeal for help and prayers.
