USC Aiken hosts free seminar on planned giving
USC Aiken announces a free seminar titled Planned Giving in the New Economy led by attorneys Bill Tucker and Buzz Rich. The sessions aim to help attendees plan estate and tax strategies to benefit the university, future students, and their families. Two dates are offered: March 25 and April 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Pickens-Salley House conference room. Refreshments provided.

Beech Island Home Invasion and Local Burglary Report
A Beech Island resident described an unidentified man attacking him at home Wednesday and stealing his book bag, possibly with a gun. A Tuesday burglary on Mackey Scott Road saw entry through an unlocked door and multiple items stolen. A Bath deputy stopped a fleeing thief on Huckabee Street with a TV. another TV was recovered at the residence. A 19-year-old girl reported her father cut power to the home over a high bill of about 1200 dollars, telling occupants to sleep. A Graniteville man, Brad Eugene Pritchett, is detained on charges of a lewd act on a child involving a 10-year-old boy after an adult resident witnessed alleged abuse.
