Woman electrician Jackie Steed breaks into male-dominated field
Jackie Steed, 18, a Cross High School senior near Moncks Corner, becomes an Atlantic Electric apprentice. She embraces construction work and new devices, says the program offers early training and strong hiring potential amid a skilled-trades shortage. Steed aims for a journeyman license after more experience, noting lifelong learning from veteran workers.
