A North Augusta mother, Tara Hassell Dorfman, 36, remains jailed in Richmond County on charges of cruelty to children in the first degree after allegedly poisoning her daughter by injecting bacteria into the child's bloodstream. The child has been in foster care with a friend, Ginger Buckner, for two and a half years.
Solicitor Barbara Morgan said her office keeps options open and maintains communication with Augusta prosecutors as three men Easterling Ronald Coleman Jr. and Carlston Coleman Jr. face murder charges in the 1998 Holt kidnapping and Wal Mart robberies. Easterling pleaded guilty in Columbia County to two counts of murder in the Walkers killings and said he drove the Colemans during Holt abduction.
