Aiken man shot multiple times at home, suspect arrested
Cedric Jones, aged 30 to 40, is in intensive care at Aiken Regional Medical Centers after being shot several times at his 519 Abbeville Ave. residence around noon Friday. Dion Cook, 31, of 1001 Pinecrest Ave., was arrested on Kershaw Street and charged with assault and battery with intent to kill. He remains in the Aiken County Detention Center.

Aiken man charged in wife murder amid domestic dispute
Johnson is accused of following his wife to her sister’s Edgefield Avenue home after a domestic altercation and shooting her when she called for help. Officers Umstead and Terry were cleared by SLED. Johnson held on 35 000 bond later raised to 200 000. He was moved to state prison after breaking a water pipe. Trial set for April for a separate fatal murder case.

Tractor trailer crash along SC Georgia line injures two
Deputy Coroner E L Rearden said driver Stewart M Hammett 39 of Summerton was uninjured. No charges filed. Investigators expect days to reconstruct the incident. Two others Cathy Kerns Grovetown Ga and Daniel Gorby Evans Ga were hospitalized with conditions unknown. Traffic halted two hours on the SC Georgia line.
