Aiken High Teams Dominate Math Contest and DECA Honors
Aiken High School swept the Augusta College math tournament with the A Team first in written tests and five-match wins. Individual placers included Daniel Pound second, Mike Phillips third, and David Mullins fourth. DECA prizes at Myrtle Beach featured Belinda Baughman placing second and a chapter award for a Pepsi Learn and Earn project. Augusta Opera artists perform tomorrow in Aiken.

Four Suspects Arrested After Exxon Station Robbery Attempt
Aiken County Sheriff Paul D. Grant reports four suspects were arrested for house breaking and possession of illegal weapons after an armed robbery attempt at Holly's Exxon in Bath. Sgt. E L Reardon helped contain them inside the station until backup arrived. Names listed: Linda ToTo, Dusty Cherry, Arden Lyons, Kathy Harriot, all of Orangeburg. Investigators found a large cash sum in the suspects' vehicle. Orangeburg deputies to verify if tied to a local robbery or school. Five other Sheriff’s cases were also noted last night.
