North Carolina Court Denies Teen Parole Relocation Request
A Mecklenburg County court in Fort Mill refused a South Carolina teen parolee's bid to live with a relative near Charlotte while on parole for murder. A second teen, also paroled for the 12 year old victim's shooting death, awaits a decision on residing in North Carolina. The youths, then 13 and 14, were banned from SC until age 19 after serving about 20 months. The Interstate Compact on Juveniles official cited insufficient supervision as a reason for denial.
