Man poses as immigration officer to extort over 70000
Greenville police charge 53 year old Michael Ruiz with trafficking extortion impersonating an officer and selling fictitious licenses after he allegedly scammed at least six people out of more than 70000 by posing as a police or immigration officer who could help legal status and threatened deportation. He is jailed without bond and no attorney listed. Police seek other victims to come forward.

Aiken Department of Public Safety charged Matthew Ramon Drayton 19 with grand larceny safecracking misprision of a felony and disturbing schools for a 2016 burglary on Hitchcock Drive. Investigators tied Drayton to Rakish Jenkins 18 and other juveniles. Jenkins earlier faced related charges later dismissed. Jenkins then faced separate shooting and weapon charges. Drayton was arrested and released on bond.
