Hospital faces nearly 14 million judgment in malpracti ce case
Aiken Regional Medical Centers must pay Seletha Gartrell nearly 14 million dollars after a jury found the hospital reckless or willful in care related to sepsis treatment and two days of medication administration. Gartrell, 54, of Aiken, lost both legs above the knee and parts of her arms in the incident. The verdict allocates 10 million in economic damages and 3.75 million in noneconomic damages.
