Honea Path fuel tank leak turns into soil contamination

In Honea Path Elementary, a 4,000 gallon buried fuel oil tank contained water and fuel oil. Conn Construction drained the tank and resealed it, but about a third of the contents contaminated 1,200 feet of sand with roughly 150 gallons of fuel. Crews will replace the contaminated soil to reduce risk.

Chester police recapture escaped inmate Anthony Pendergrass

Chester County authorities recaptured 30 year old Anthony Pendergrass about six hours after he escaped from the county jail by ducking behind a counter and fleeing a door near the detention center. Four US marshals and the State Law Enforcement Division helped cordon a one mile perimeter during the search.
