Aiken County Votes On City Council Redistricting Plan

A special election in Aiken will decide whether to switch from a 4 2 1B district system to a 5 1 1 plan. The referendum, on April 1, follows a NAACP objection to a map seen as diluting minority voting strength. Twenty two precincts will participate with four thousand dollars in cost.

Suspect in Rawalpindi linked to al Qaida figure Mohammed

Captured in Quetta and traced via emails to Rawalpindi, Abdul Rehman from Egypt identified himself after questioning. A second foreign suspect remains unnamed. Mohammed, 37, is tied to al Qaida leadership and Sept 11. U.S. and Pakistani agencies conducted a joint operation.
