Local agencies back bloodhound tracking in Aiken county
Since 1965 the Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team expanded through 2000 to five dogs, two wagons, and a centralized kennel. Led by Lt. Michael Hunt, the multi agency effort includes Aiken DPS, Aiken County Sheriff, and North Augusta Public Safety with ten members. The unit responds to 101 calls in 2000, resulting in 50 arrests and 25 cancellations.
