Aiken Choral Society Day Celebrates Debut CD
Aiken Choral Society plans a March 4 reception at the Aiken Center for the Arts to debut its first commercially released compact disc Petite Messe Solennelle. The event features performances by the choir, harpist Vonda Carr, readings, artist exhibits, a silent auction, and a Valentine soloist auction. Proceeds benefit ACS and the arts center.

SRS Essay Contest Opens For Middle School Students
In celebration of Savannah River Site's sixth anniversary in 2000, USCA Aiken Technical College and the SRS Anniversary Committee sponsor a middle school essay contest titled Man's Impact on the Natural Environment. Grades six to eight in the CSRA region may enter. First prize 300 dollars, second 200, third 100.
