Book Buying Bonanza At AAUW Fair Continues Today

Investors benefit as unemployment falls and stocks rise

The February job report shows unemployment at 4.1 percent and fewer hires, easing fears of rapid rate hikes. Fed expected to raise rates modestly after jobs data

Teaching teachers in South Carolina high standards program

Columbia South Carolina educators will refine skills to meet tougher standards. The Governor School for Excellence in Teaching project, funded with 4.1 million dollars from the federal government, will host up to 240 teachers in six one week sessions this summer at Benedict College Columbia College USC Winthrop University or Furman University. Sessions cover reading writing mathematics and science with education professors and top teachers guiding participants toward standards under the Education Accountability Act.
