Aiken to showcase Hitchcock Parkway widening concept
The City of Aiken will host a Tuesday information session to display an alternate concept for the Hitchcock Parkway widening project. The plan, drawn by W R Toole Engineers, envisions two to four lanes with a landscaped median and narrower 11 foot lanes, within the current right of way. Residents voiced concerns at a previous meeting, and city leaders aim to reconcile lane widths with SCDOT designs ahead of summer public talks.
