Today’s calendar features UPCOMING EVENTS including Yesterday's Sounds at the DAV Building from 7:30 to 11 p.m. with admission six dollars and a booze-free snack menu. Also Sth Friday Dancing in the Streets at The Alley downtown Aiken from 7 to 11 p.m. with Palmetto Groove and free admission.
Saturday events include Edgefield Turkey Palooza at the National Wild Turkey Federation campus with fireworks, live bands, food, games, fishing, raffles, and silent auctions starting at 4 p.m. Contact details and additional notices for crochet class, charity golf, and a grand opening are provided.
The Aiken Stitchin Belles meet monthly at the Aiken County Historical Museum from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday. A separate Fourth of July event at Gaston Livery and Aiken Veteran's Park on Richland Avenue features Preston and Weston, free entry, cash prizes for a pie bake, corn hole, best patriotic tribute, and watermelon seed spitting. Gates open at 5 p.m. with music 6 to 9 p.m. The American Tribute at 9 p.m. Fourth concert is at St. Pauls Church in Augusta on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., general admission $15, Afterglow BBQ $20. The Aiken Newcomers Club for women will meet July 10 at Newberry Hall 117 Newberry St. S.W. Registration starts 11 a.m. business session at 1 15 p.m. Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 14 p.m. Luncheon costs 14 dollars payable to Aiken Newcomers Club. Reserve by noon Thursday July 5 by calling 644 4147. Club will collect school supplies for the fall seminar.
