The Golden Poets Guild announces a free poetry contest with a total prize pool of $5000 including a $1000 grand prize. Windham House will hold a jewelry and accessory sale on Tuesday from 1 to 6 p.m. at 100 Council Circle behind the Aiken County Complex. The event features South Carolina and Clemson items and a portion of proceeds supports the residents activities fund. For information call 641-2334.
A Soccer Camp will be held at Roy Warner Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 0 to 15. The fee is $80, and organizers provide contact at (803) 564-6149 for more information.
The Aiken County Recreation Center will offer swim lessons through August 1. The program runs on a schedule set by the center as part of summer activities, inviting residents to enroll for basic to intermediate levels.

Jean Blackmer's artworks will be on exhibit at the Aiken Artist Guild Gallery inside the Aiken Center for the Arts from July 7 through July 31.
