Longtime politician Strom Thurmond mourned in edgefield death

Strom Thurmond, 100, of Edgefield died June 26 2008 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral services set for July 1 2003 at First Baptist Church Columbia with full military honors at Willowbrook Cemetery. Survived by wife Nancy Moore Thurmond daughter Julie Thurmond Whitmer sons Strom Thurmond Jr Paul Thurmond and others. Memorials to Strom Thurmond Foundation or local churches.
