Batchelor in police custody after 15 day manhunt ends
Michael Batchelor, 35, surrendered to authorities Sunday afternoon and is jailed at the Aiken County Detention Center ending a 15 day manhunt. He had jumped bail on June 13 the day he was to plead guilty to charges tied to his sons' vehicle deaths. Sheriff Hunt said Batchelor appeared in good condition and investigators will pursue possible accomplices. Joy Batchelor, ex wife and mother of the three boys, expressed relief at see him behind bars.

Man killed in wreck near Windsor on US 78
A two car crash early Sunday near Windsor left John Fitzgerald Simmons 36 of Windsor dead after veering across the center line into a minivan. Haley Sedam off Clearwater was airlifted to MCG and later listed in good condition. Simmons was in a 1984 Mazda RX7. Sedam drove a 1969 Ford Aerostar. Police said no other passengers were involved. The victim was not wearing a seat belt. Cause of the crash under investigation.
