Jet ski donation aids Augusta river rescue operations
A 2006 Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-12F loaned by Aiken Motorcycle Sales and Service will bolster Augusta Richmond County Fire Department rescue work on the Savannah River. The watercraft, provided through Kawasaki Jet Ski Watercraft Loan Program, helps responders reach tight areas where boats cannot. The program, active since 1989, has supplied over 5,400 jet skis to more than 1,450 agencies nationwide.

The USC Aiken pageant held Saturday in the Business & Education Building Gym crowned Little Miss AKA 2006-2007 Jessica M. Key in the 5-8 group with Master James Gathers as escort, and Miss Pink and Green 2006-2007 Tiffany Gomillion in the 9-12 group with escort Master Trenton Herrin. Former winners Tamia Patten and Toria Brightharp performed. Participants presented talents including tap dancing poetry and drama. Proceeds support the chapter’s scholarship fund. Co-chairs were Janie Key and Ann Dicks.
