The U S Command reported eighty Americans killed in action last week in Vietnam and Cambodia the lowest toll in nine weeks. Wounded numbers rose sharply from 364 to 643. South Vietnamese losses were 366 killed and 1 071 wounded, with the enemy toll rising to 2 093 killed. Twenty American deaths and 255 wounded occurred in Cambodia.
The International Civil Aviation Organization urged its 119 members to enact strict national criminal laws with severe penalties for airline hijackers and saboteurs. The U S delegation pressed the measure at a special conference, which the ICAO approved 56 to 0 as delegations from 89 nations attend the June 16 30 session. John Meadows of the State Department said the move could help forge broader civil aviation accords.

In Dallas a box shaped memorial to President John F. Kennedy was dedicated about 200 yards from the assassination site. Architect Philip Johnson designed it with Kennedy family friends present and about 250 attendees at the ceremony.
A federal judge in New York approved an 82.5 million settlement by five major drug companies over price fixing on tetracycline and other antibiotics. The deal covers 43 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico with about 8 million in interest. Some states and individual users continue treble damages suits, totaling over 300 million filed, with outcomes uncertain at best.
