Iraq resumes oil exports amid sabotage and looting delays
Iraq shipped its first crude since the war from Kirkuk as the pipeline faced sabotage and looting. A huge fire burned west of Baghdad after an earlier explosion. A grenade attack killed one U.S. soldier and wounded another south of Baghdad. Bremer told leaders security is the road to recovery and proposed direct oil revenue distribution or a national fund. The shipment moves proceeds to a U.S. controlled fund for rebuilding.
