City to hold two downtown rezoning forums in June
The City of Aiken planning department will host two neighborhood forums in June to discuss expanding the downtown business district along Richland Avenue. The first meeting is June 1 at Mead Hall Harlington Hall cafeteria, the second on June 26 at the Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum. Planning Director Ryan Bland seeks public input to establish a community baseline guiding future decisions. The expansion would extend east and west within roughly a 15 block area including Laurens and Chesterfield streets.
