Progress on the Murphy Village racketeering case stalled with a July 10 deadline requested for the pre sentencing report. Judge J Michelle Childs approved the extension while co defendants seek travel permissions and remaining pleas await sentencing.
Monetta’s Big Mo drive in theater may open for at least one set of showings after a weekend lightning strike damaged air conditioning and projector components on the Main Field and screens two and three. The University of Georgia Savannah River Ecology Laboratory starts a 10 week NSF funded summer undergraduate research experience in radioecology with 14 participants from universities across the U S The cohort trains in handling radioactive elements and conducts a mentored project at the Savannah River Site concluding with a symposium in Columbia.
