Martin Luther Joyce 89 of Aiken formerly of Ramseur died Friday June 17 2005 in Aiken. Funeral 2 pm Monday June 20 at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church with Revs Paul Griffin and James Rice officiating. Burial in church cemetery. He was a lifetime Randolph County resident retired farmer and worked for Acme McCrary Corp. Survivors include wife Juanita Cox Joyce daughter Mamie and Gene Caveness of Aiken sister Brooksie Higgins of Asheboro grandchildren Angela Waters Bryant Caveness great grandchildren Tyler Banks Lauren and Abigail. The family will receive friends 7 9 pm Sunday at Loflin Funeral Home Ramseur and at other times at Anita Cox’s home. Sumter man charged with scalding girlfriend's son
A 29 year old Wedgefield man Brent Hill was arrested in Sumter County on a charge of aggravated assault and battery after a 3 year old boy was scalded with hot water while in Hill's care in Rembert. The child was airlifted to the Robert M. Still Burn Center for treatment.

Officials Probe Bird Deaths Off South Carolina Coasts
