Protests began two hours before inmates met with officials to discuss grievances after violence on Monday. The crowd spoke with inmates through the fence for half an hour before retreating as more guards arrived. Larry Little of Winston-Salem urged peace on both sides.

A 30 pound male Rhesus monkey escaped its cage aboard Eastern Airlines Flight 905 at Gate 10 in Atlanta causing 100 passengers to be delayed and five suitcases to miss connections. The animal was tranquilized after two hours and will be shipped to the University of Georgia for behavioral research once recovered.

Kirby’s management contract study. he withdrew from Kirby’s unrelated motion to appropriate 430 for Mrs. Gibbs to attend a welfare rights meeting. Ray had originally moved to table Kirby’s proposal.

A ten year old from Aiken drowned at Eustis Park Swimming Pool around 11 a.m. yesterday while attending a summer playground program run by the Aiken Recreation Department.
