Gov Beasley vetoed a budget provision that would have allowed unlimited video poker payouts, trimming 4.7 million to fund a manufacturers tax break. The veto preserves a cap while the state budget includes 46 billion and tax cuts. House Speaker Wilkins says he will review vetoes as two chambers prepare to reconvene.
Authorities seek a 24 to 34 year old black male in a kidnapping, armed robbery and sexual assault against a 22 year old Greenville woman. The suspect, driving the victim's white 1996 Toyota Camry, fled after the victim escaped from the vehicle's trunk near the Aiken Mall around 12:30 PM. The crime began in Marion County with a knife attack and ATM thefts in Florence and Columbia.
