Al-Qaida in Mali May Possess MANPADS, AP Finds
A photocopied 26 page Arabic manual recovered in Timbuktu linked to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb suggests the group has the SA-7 surface to air missile. Analysts say the guide shows fighters trained to use MANPADS, potentially looted from Libyan stockpiles. The United States has long tracked such missiles and moved to destroy them since 2006.
