Albany NY A 90 day suspension of John Zaccaro's real estate license was ruled by hearing officer Barry Bohan amid claims the action unfairly stemmed from his marriage to Geraldine Ferraro. Officials cited a false net worth statement and altered appraisal as evidence of untrustworthiness.
PITTSBURGH AP Bob Prince longtime Pirates play by play man died Monday after cancer surgery at age 68. Known as The Gunner for rapid delivery he was a Pittsburgh sports landmark famed for his colorful slang and loud jackets.

County population rises from 105 708 in 1980 to about 111 900 as of 1984. Aiken City grows from 14 978 to 16 783, a 12.1 percent gain. Building permits for single family homes jump from 41 to 176, and commercial industrial construction value climbs from 7 447 379 to 13 838 062. Eight new industries establish plants in the area.
City council OKs a 6.9 million general fund and 4.8 million utility fund budgets effective July 1. Tax rates stay steady but sewer rates rise 1.50 monthly to 6.89, and water and sewer taps increase from 190 to 250. Fire protection costs rise outside city limits with a 1 monthly increase.
An Aiken County jury began deliberations in the murder case of Darrell Juett Floyd charged with killing 17 year old Gene Plemons last March. Wayne L. Davis and Leonard Floyd faced related charges after pleading guilty to misprision of a felony. Davis testified he heard a gunshot saw Floyd with a shotgun and watched the events at the Banks Mill Road Extension clearing where a hole was dug for a bonfire and Plemons was shot.
Aiken County and Richmond County officers disposed of dynamite found near Vaucluse after an anonymous call. The blast area was behind dumpsters on Good Springs Road outside city limits. Sniffer dog Monti and Officer C E Jordan helped locate a buried case of dynamite about one foot deep.
