Aiken County Sheriff Office civilian employee Shonea Arrington, 39, was arrested Thursday on obstruction of justice and destroying public records. She allegedly took two warrants for money and lied about their status. Bond set at 10,000 for obstruction and 5,000 for the records charge. Arrington was released from jail. Lt. Tim Hoffman did not comment.
Judith Warner widow of former council chairman Carroll H. Warner confirmed she will run for the District 1 seat as Judy Warner. A longtime Republican activist she seeks to campaign in the largest district and promise conservative leadership with equal district representation. She qualified for the Aug. 9 primary as three other Republicans also entered the race.
