Hinckley Poses For Courtroom Artists During Dull Testimony
John W. Hinckley Jr. began posing for courtroom artists during a slow cross examination as he smirked and grinned at sketches. Reporters noted it was the first time in seven weeks of trial that he gave the artists more than a fleeting glance. He mouthed an obscenity at Dr. Park Elliott Dietz, the government psychiatrist who maintained Hinckley was sane after the Reagan assassination attempt on March 30, 1981.

Governor Sends Stricter Abortion Bill to Pennsylvania Governor
The Pennsylvania Senate approved a tougher abortion bill 30 to 19 after House passage 127 to 61. It requires a 24 hour waiting period and demands physicians outline risks and offer fetal development information and pregnancy resources. Thornburgh previously vetoed a similar measure citing constitutional concerns. He personally opposes abortion except in rape incest or danger to the mother.
