Aiken Youth Killed in Four-Car Highway 19 Crash
A 17 year old Aiken youth was killed yesterday in a four car crash on Highway 19. Gerald Melton Morris died at Aiken Community Hospital after the 6 15 p m accident. David G Harvey, 60, had minor injuries and was released from the hospital. James R Beatty turned left off Highway 19 and Morris braking led to a rear collision with John A Mills. The Morris car went into the southbound lane and was hit head on by Harveys pick up. EMS took over 20 minutes to remove Morris from the wreckage.

Local man Charles Nipper named MS Father of the Year
Charles Nipper of Aiken County will be honored as Multiple Sclerosis Father of the Year by the Central South Carolina MS Society. Once active and employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas, he began showing MS symptoms in 1976, endured several attacks, and retired at 32. He and his wife have three children Lamon 11 Dimetrius 6 and DeeDee 5.

Sidewalk Repair Planned After Belvedere Collapse
Belvedere residents learn that a newly built section of sidewalk near Belvedere Elementary School will be repaired under a South Carolina Highway Department contract with Thompson Construction of Columbia.
