A late night shoplifting incident ended in a two state chase and the arrest of two North Augusta women, Julia M. Robinson and Onjulique E. Orsten, after Robinson took five cartons of cigarettes from Smile Station on US 1 in Aiken. The pursuit involved the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and North Augusta Department of Public Safety as the suspects fled toward the car.

Travelers aid crash victims on US 278 near Windsor
On a Friday night, Mike Storer and his son Aaron stopped to help after spotting a truck smoking off the road near Clip pership Loop. The ex-firefighter, CPR trained, administered about 10 to 12 minutes of CPR to a male victim in a 1999 Ford F150 until EMS arrived. One victim was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, another to ARMC. Names and conditions were not available.
