California smoker wins record $3 billion judgment vs Philip Morris
Richard Boeken a lifelong smoker from Topanga was awarded 9 billion in punitive damages and 5.5 million in general damages by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury finding Philip Morris liable on all six counts of fraud negligence and defective product. Boeken diagnosed with lung cancer in 1990 said the verdict surprised him and NBC noted plans to appeal.

China US agree to dismantle and fly home crippled spy plane
