A Lexington couple William and Rachel Schureck faced a massive Sprint charge after a mailer arrived showing 132,000 minutes of calls and a 750 page bill. Sprint later reduced the charge to about $200 after concluding the billing could not be accurate.
Los Angeles AP report says a 12 day old infant whose unwed parents gave custody to his paternal grandparents to overturn a hospital’s transplant denial. A donor heart search has begun after Loma Linda University Medical Center refused a transplant. The baby, born May 25, is in stable condition and to be moved to Loma Linda from an undisclosed Los Angeles County hospital.
A 20 percent chance of thundershowers is expected for tonight and tomorrow. Skies will be cloudy tonight and partly cloudy tomorrow. The low tonight will be around 70 degrees, and tomorrow's high will reach the low 90s. Details on Page 5A.

Aerospace lawyers report rising inquiries about damages from NASA or contractors over the Challenger disaster. No suits have been filed by relatives yet, but several lawyers say they are advising surviving astronauts families and potential claimants.
Aiken County Board of Education Chairman Robert H. Slay refused to comment on racism charges by the NAACP and charges by the Concerned People of Area 2 after the board reassigned 15 administrative staff. Washington report notes the Challenger investigation commission produced about 15 000 pages of public and secret testimony plus over 100 000 documents to be stored at the National Archives days after the panel’s findings are released. The 250 page report with four appendices will be formally presented to President Reagan on Monday, with four additional volumes to follow.
