Hopelands Concert Series Hosts Two Summer Shows This Week
Hopelands Gardens hosts two free concerts this week. MAiken Music performs 7 p.m. Monday featuring 60s folk and spirituals and Bethany and the Southside Boys make their Hopelands debut Tuesday at 7 p.m. In case of rain, events move to H Odell Weeks Activities Center.

The City of Aiken Parks Recreation and Tourism Department previews the Hopelands Concert Series continuing Monday with all shows free. Most concerts occur at Hopelands Gardens weather permitting, while the finale moves to Millbrook Baptist Church. Performers include Maiken Music Bethany and the South Side Boys Ryan Abel Downtown Mixup and The Parris Island Marine Band across June dates.

Three in Aiken County homicide identified by sheriff
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office named three suspects in a March strong armed robbery on Huber Clay Road that left cab driver Robert Hightower dead. Suspects David Jerome Jacobs Jr Marcus Allen Turner and Brandon Tahj Barton face murder and robbery warrants. Barton was arrested June 3, Turner remains at large.
