Rakim Barton, 19, once charged with murder in the killing of a 70 year old cab driver after a sketch identification, was released. His older brother now faces charges including murder and strong armed robbery, per jail records.
Online First reported at 4 p.m. Saturday from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office shows Brendon Tahj Barton 17 was cleared after charges of murder and strong armed robbery were dropped. Aiken police seek Tobias Thomas Patterson Thomas 19 of Morgan Street on murder and weapons charges in the May 26 shooting at the Paces Run Apartments. Officers responded to Brandt Court after shots were fired finding a man with gunshot wounds to the head and neck. Bey died from injuries.
